-
Anxiety can have you experiencing constant worry, racing thoughts, panic attacks, heart racing, difficulty sleeping/relaxing, avoidance, feeling on edge, and physical symptoms (nausea/sweating).
EMDR helps calms the nervous system and processes underlying experiences. Many experience relief in just a few sessions by processing "stuck" memories that trigger the anxiety response.
-
Trauma can leave you experiencing flashbacks, intrusive memories, a sense of emotional numbness, or feeling disconnected from those around you. You might struggle to trust others, feel hypervigilant or easily startled, and feel as though the traumatic event is still happening in the present.
EMDR helps your brain process these memories so they finally become part of your past rather than something you keep reliving. By integrating these experiences, the therapy reduces their emotional charge and helps you reclaim a true sense of safety.
-
Toxic relationships can have you constantly walking on eggshells, feeling confused about what is real, and losing your sense of identity through constant criticism or isolation. You may find yourself stuck in exhausting cycles of tension followed by only temporary relief.
EMDR helps you process the emotional toll of these dynamics, allowing you to rebuild your sense of self and establish firm, healthy boundaries. It focuses on healing psychological wounds so you can regain your emotional strength and independence.
-
Narcissistic abuse can leave you reeling from gaslighting, reality distortion, and the whiplash of "love bombing" followed by cold devaluation. You might feel like you are never good enough, experience extreme emotional reactions, and struggle with a deep fear of rejection or difficulty making decisions.
EMDR helps you heal from these deep emotional wounds and reclaim your grip on reality. By processing the trauma of psychological manipulation, the therapy rebuilds your self-worth and helps you develop the clarity to recognize and protect yourself from future abuse.
-
Divorce can cause overwhelming grief, a profound sense of loss, and intense feelings of anger or resentment toward the past. You may feel consumed by uncertainty about the future, struggle with the stress of co-parenting, and deal with the heavy weight of feeling like you’ve failed.
EMDR helps you stay emotionally regulated during difficult transitions while processing the grief of a marriage ending. It is particularly effective for high-conflict situations, helping you move forward from a place of grounded strength rather than emotional reactivity.
-
PTSD can cause you to suffer from vivid nightmares, disturbing flashbacks, and severe panic attacks that make the world feel unsafe. You may find yourself avoiding anything that reminds you of the trauma, feeling detached from loved ones, and struggling with intense irritability or emotional numbness.
EMDR helps your brain process these traumatic memories and reduce their emotional intensity. This allows you to remember the past without being overwhelmed by the physical and emotional feelings associated with it.
-
High control religious abuse can leave you with a lingering fear of eternal punishment, deep guilt over normal human desires, and a loss of identity outside of a specific group. You may feel isolated from your former community and find it difficult to make decisions or express doubts without intense shame.
EMDR helps you process religious trauma and heal the fear instilled by high-control environments. The therapy supports you in dismantling the shame while helping you discover your own authentic values and a life built on your own terms.
-
Attachment issues can result in a constant fear of rejection, difficulty trusting others deeply, and a pattern of repeating unhealthy relationship cycles. You might feel "clingy" or, conversely, overly independent, often feeling as though you are fundamentally unworthy of love and care.
EMDR heals attachment wounds by processing early painful experiences with caregivers and helping you develop a more secure sense of self. By addressing the root memories that created these insecure patterns, you can form healthier, more satisfying relationships as an adult.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a brain-based therapy that helps process traumatic memories.
During sessions, I guide you to follow my finger with your eyes from side to side while recalling difficult experiences. This bilateral stimulation activates both sides of your brain, allowing it to properly process and file away traumatic memories as past events rather than present emotional triggers.
The result is that disturbing memories lose their emotional charge and no longer cause anxiety, panic, or other symptoms.
-
No, EMDR therapy does not cost extra. I include EMDR as part of my standard therapeutic approach. All sessions are $180 for 50 minutes, whether we're using EMDR or other evidence-based techniques.
During your free 15-minute consultation, we'll discuss whether EMDR is right for your specific needs.
-
Yes, EMDR is highly effective for PTSD. However, EMDR treats much more than PTSD, including anxiety, narcissistic abuse recovery, toxic relationships, high-conflict divorce trauma, attachment wounds, religious trauma, and more.
EMDR helps your brain process difficult memories so they no longer trigger intense reactions. Many clients experience relief from the first session using brain techniques for immediate anxiety regulation.
